First Friday: A Night of Art

First Friday: A Night of Art is a great opportunity to visit local galleries and businesses featuring rotating artwork. Held the first Friday of each month from 5-8pm (unless otherwise noted), it is a self-guided tour of the participating galleries and businesses.

Friday, March 1st Events Include

The District 6 & Friends Arts Walk:

Madison & Main Gallery (927 16th Street)

"Through the Looking Glass" is the newest show at the Madison & Main Gallery and features six guest artists. “Begin at the beginning, and go on till you come to the end.” This show has a variety of tea cups and many other capricious pieces of art just waiting for a tea party with Alice in Wonderland. Come through the looking glass or down the rabbit hole to explore art of all sizes at the gallery, where there is always something unpredictable to see and at least six impossible things to believe before breakfast. The exciting pieces created by our gallery artists and guest artists include mixed media, monoprints, pottery, photography, jewelry, and stunning boxes made from exotic woods.

The slate of guest artists are Jill Burczyk, Felisha Bustos, Jeff Craig, Ruth Hesse, Bryan Maltais, and Laura Reardon.

Art by Meeker Elementary students will be featured at the gallery for the District 6 Art Walk. The art of 30 students will be exhibited through the month of March.

The members of the gallery invite you to join them for this whimsical show that runs from February 27 through April 28, 2024. On First Friday, March 1 the gallery will have an Opening Reception from 5-8 pm.
