The Book Stop Retail Addition and Lofts
The Book Stop, located across from the UNC campus, experienced increased sales volume that required a business expansion. Although this was desirable, it created a dilemma for the property owners. Since the building was listed on the Greeley Landmark Register, they wanted to expand in a manner that would complement the existing building. They worked with a like-minded architect on a design that would meet local infill and design guidelines. While the new addition's red brick provides contrast, the large display windows complement its historic partner. Interiors feature exposed brick and high ceilings. The inclusion of lofts in this project generated attention to the development potential of this downtown Greeley location. This has been a project exemplifying real-life demands for space combined with quality design and dedication to historic preservation.
