GEMcar Shuttle
The DDA is currently in the process of designing a designated route for the GEMcar Shuttle Program. It will be back up and running a regular lunch-hour schedule this Spring. Please check back for more information about this new GEMcar route.
The GEMcar (Global Electric Motor
car) is a fun, complimentary Downtown Shuttle assisting patrons to and from parking areas,
stores, restaurants and workplaces around town.
Go ahead and ask for a ride!

Volunteer Drivers Are Needed! The shuttle only runs when volunteers are available to drive. Driver shifts vary anywhere from 1 to 3 hour shifts between 11am and 3pm Monday through Friday. Whether you would like to get involved, or would just like more information, please contact Kaitlyn Guerke with the Downtown Development Authority. The GEMcar Volunteer Driver Form is available on-line.
The GEMcar (Global Electric Motor cars) is made by Daimler Chrysler in the United States and is completely battery powered. It's street-legal and can go up to 25 miles per hour. Fully charged on a regular extension cord in a 110-volt outlet for six hours, it runs approximately 25 miles before it runs down and needs charged again.

Note: The red/white GEMcar you may have seen downtown is privately owned.
