Museum Summer Classes Enrollment Begins
April 8

Registration for children’s summer classes at the Greeley Museums begins April 8 in person, by phone or online. Parents and grandparents may enroll children ages 6-12 in weekly classes that begin June 9 and run through July. There are six weeks of classes at both the Plumb Farm Learning Center and at Centennial Village Museum. Walk-in registration takes place at the Greeley History Museum, 714 8th St., 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday. There is also an online registration form at www.greeleymuseums.com.

The classes feature different topics, and each class is repeated once. Sessions at Centennial Village are in the Lone Valley Schoolhouse and take children back to the days of readin’, writin’, recitation, stilts-walking and box socials. Students hear stories like Heidi and The Wizard of Oz in the Old Time Tales class. The Dust Bowl Dreams class explores the fun times and hard times during the Great Depression. And in Mystery at the Village, students become detectives to investigate strange happenings. Tuition is $60 per student, and classes run from 8:30-12:30, Monday to Friday.

Tuition for the Plumb Farm classes is $70 which includes one meal per day. Students help prepare and serve the meal, as well as tend gardens and care for visiting farm animals for two weeks. The three class titles are explored one week in American history; the other week in world history.

In the Train Makers class, students will put together their own train. They create and use art materials in the ArtFarm: Concoctions class, and learn circus skills in Circus on the Farm. Family members are invited the last day of class for a performance.

Plumb Farm classes also run from 8:30-12:30, Monday-Friday. Tuition is $70 per child per week. Registration for classes continues until all slots are filled. To request a detailed brochure call 350-9220 or visit www.greeleymuseums.com and download the brochure and registration form.
