Downtown Greeley Launches New Branding Campaign

Downtown Greeley is launching a branding campaign including a brand design and the slogan “Let’s Go!”

“Although the Downtown Development Authority has a logo of its own, there really hasn’t been a logo or slogan that uniquely identifies and brands the downtown district itself as a place to go, shop, dine and enjoy entertainment,” says Alison Hamling, Director of Downtown Experience.

The DDA first solicited the help of a committee to select a slogan.

“It started with “Let Yourself Go” and then became “Let’s Go” when some people said the former conjured images of lying around on the couch in your bathrobe with curlers in your hair,” jokes Hamling

Next the DDA solicited the talents of artist Pamela McCarville to bring that slogan to life with colorful, whimsical graphics. McCarville has been creating graphic design and illustrations for over 25 years from her Evans, Colorado studio.  Her work has been featured in numerous Northern Colorado publications and she has illustrated several books.

“My first canvas was my bedroom wall at a very young age. Luckily, I had a very understanding Mother who encouraged me. My husband isn’t quite as understanding and insists I use more traditional canvases.” laughs McCarville.

To gain inspiration for the downtown project, Pamela began just looking around and taking photos.

“That was one of the joys of working on this project. There are so many wonderful things to look at downtown if you take the time. I’ve been spending a lot more time in Downtown Greeley - First Fridays, the Zombie Crawl, St Patrick’s Day Parade. I’m looking forward to having fun Downtown all summer long - Let’s Go!”
